Good to Know

The values are approximate. Actual carbonation may vary depending on beer composition.
Make sure the beer is cooled to the target temperature before carbonation.
After changing pressure, wait several hours for CO₂ to stabilize in the beer.
These pressures assume sea level. At higher altitude, add about 1 psi (0.07 bar) for every 2000 ft (600 m) of elevation.

Carbonation Methods

Burst Carbonation (Fast Carb)

Set pressure 0.3 – 0.5 bar higher than the chart. Shake keg gently for 12–24 hours.

Set & Forget (Slow Carbonation)

Set exact pressure from the chart. Leave keg in the fridge for 2–7 days.

Conversions

1 VOL CO₂ = 1 liter CO₂ in 1 liter beer

1 bar = 14.5 psi

1 psi = 0.0689 bar
